Story Behind The Song
While grieving loss of a loved one in the Seattle Rain I started Dancing. This lifted my spirits.
The song came in and I remembered it and worked out the chords to the melody when I got home.
I went into Glenn Allen's Studio (Grenn Arren Studios) and put the song down with guitar and keyboard and 3 part harmonies. It's my families favorite song.
Here in Idaho on the Camas Prairie we sing it part Seattle Rain and Part Out Here on the Prairie.

Lyrics
REASON TO DANCE
(Seattle Rain)
Sometimes I go there
But it's just not the same
It's better of course here
In the Seattle rain
Sent back through time
In my mind
Catching the Midnight train
To the Pain
And the memory that stains forbidden
The memory remains unhidden
Though it's just not the same
In the Seattle rain
I washed them all away
In the Seattle rain
Life it
Pours through the sleeve
Sifts through the sieve
Sooner or later
The love of the heart must bleed
From imagined Lack and greed
When it's All given
It's all given
Life
Pours through the sieve
Slips through the sleeve
Sooner or later
The love of the heart is freed
Yes we all leave
And it's all given
It's all given
We're relieved
Reprieved
It's just not the same
You'll find me dancin'
In the Seattle rain
You find me dancin'
In the Seattle rain
When it's all given
It's all given
